Honestly, be careful with these deals tho... the real cost isnt just the price tag. In my experience, I've seen so many people snag a discounted GPU only to realize their setup just cant handle it safely. Here's what I'd double check before you hit buy:

Check your PSU wattage and tier. These high-end cards have massive transient spikes that can trip older or budget power supplies. If you're running a 600W unit from five years ago, you're gonna have a bad time.

Measure your case twice. Modern cards are getting ridiculously long and thick. You dont want to be the guy cutting a hole in your chassis because the card is 5mm too long.

Avoid third-party sellers on big sites that have unbelievable prices. Usually, those are scams or units with zero manufacturer warranty support if something goes pop.

Get dedicated PCIe cables ready. Dont use the pigtail or daisy-chain ones for a card this powerful, it's basically a fire hazard waiting to happen. Just make sure the rest of your rig is actually ready for the jump before you drop the cash!

Im trying to decide between grabbing the Herder shawl cardigan which looks so cozy or maybe just getting two of those Craftsman canvas shirts instead since they're more versatile for my trip to Seattle in early December but my budget is strictly under $250 for the whole haul so I need to know the exact minute it starts so stuff doesnt sell out. I heard they usually do a private early access thing for members but idk if that's happening this year or if its just a flat discount on Friday morning? Does anyone remember if it started on Monday last time or if I have to wait until midnight on the actual day...

To add to the point above: it seems like the consensus is leaning toward the big names like Patagonia or Canada Goose, which is logical for Chicago. But honestly, I'd be a bit cautious with these app-only drops. I've seen them lead to a lot of frustration lately with both tracking and returns... If you want my two cents after doing this for years, you might want to consider going with Fjallraven for that kind of wind. You honestly cant go wrong with their heavy-duty stuff. Or just look for any high-fill-power options from Woolrich and youll be set for years. Just make sure to verify the insulation type before you pull the trigger because sometimes the app descriptions are kinda vague. Stay away from the hype and stick to the brands that have been around forever, its much safer for your budget and your peace of mind.

^ This. Also, basically, you've got the heads up on nike being stingy and reebok being a good value play. unfortunately, i’ve been kinda disappointed with how much prices have spiked while durability has dipped across the board lately. it’s getting harder to find stuff that actually lasts on a budget, especially for a nyc commute where the sidewalk just eats your soles. since you're walking a ton, i’d skip the hype and look at puma. they usually go absolutely wild for black friday—talking 50% off the entire site or more. i grabbed the PUMA Fuse 2.0 Training Shoes for the gym last year and they've actually held up for lifting way better than my old nikes did. for the casual side, something like the PUMA Suede Classic XXI Sneakers is a safe bet. you can snag both for like $110 total if you time it right, which is huge when you're trying to stay under $200. just a heads up tho, a lot of brands use 'black friday versions' of shoes that feel cheaper than the originals. it’s frustrating cuz they look the same online but feel like cardboard in person. stick to the core lines and avoid the stuff that looks like it's made of plastic. under armour is also decent for gym stuff, but their casual shoes are usually hit or miss. just dont get blinded by the big banners... look at the materials first.

Not sure about the 2026 specifics yet but IIRC the trends usually stay the same every year. I would suggest being careful with Nike because their 20% often excludes the popular models you actually want. If you only have $200 for two pairs, you might want to consider these points:

Adidas generally goes much deeper with their discounts, sometimes hitting 50% or 60% off their outlet section.

I think Reebok and New Balance are better for bang-for-your-buck because they dont have the same hype tax as Nike.

Make sure to check the return policies before you buy since Black Friday sales are sometimes final sale. I have had bad luck with shipping delays in the past so maybe order early if you can. Someone told me that the best deals actually drop the Monday before the actual Friday, so keep an eye out for that too. For an NYC commute, you definitely want something with decent cushioning tho.
