To add to the point above: the technical side of why these sales feel like a letdown is basically down to fiber length and micron count! It drives me crazy because people see that cashmere label and think it's all the same quality... it is totally not!

Fiber Length: Sale items usually use Grade B or C fibers that are way shorter. Short fibers mean more ends sticking out of the yarn, which is exactly why something like the NAADAM The Essential Cashmere Sweater pills so fast compared to their premium lines.

Knit Tension: They definitely loosen the tension on the machines for high-volume runs. A loose knit uses way less yarn per square inch, which saves them money but leaves you with a flimsy garment that loses its shape after one wash.

Ply and Twist: Most of these sale pieces are 2-ply but with a super low twist. Low twist feels amazing and soft in the store but has zero structural integrity over time. Ngl I am just so tired of the price wars ruining the specs. If I am paying even $75 or $100 on sale I still expect a decent micron count. It feels like such a scam when the savings just mean you are buying a lower-spec product that wont last! I bought a NAADAM Cashmere V-Neck Sweater last year and the gauge was so thin it was basically translucent... so frustrating.

honestly i have had some issues with their quality lately especially during these big sales. unfortunately the lower-priced stuff didnt hold up as well as i hoped... it pilled after like three wears. here is what i noticed from a more technical side:

the gauge on the basic sweaters is pretty thin which is why they dont last as long as traditional cashmere

sales often mean final sale or store credit only so you are basically stuck if the fit is weird

the yarn tension feels a bit loose on the entry level pieces compared to their premium lines i want to help you avoid the same mistakes i made tho. are you looking for something thats gonna last you five years or just a quick seasonal piece? also what is your actual budget for a single item? if you are looking for durability you might need to look at the higher ply counts even if the discount isnt as deep.
