Instead of Famous Footwear, check out DIY shoe repair kits online. $20 buys you materials to resole a pair or two yourself. Decent option if you're handy!

Honestly, for grip, I'd skip Famous Footwear. Unfortunately, their soles don't meet track standards, impacting pedal feel. Had issues with their 'grip' during autocross. Not as good as expected. Instead, check out racing shoes. Sparco Terra's ergonomic design improves response. $150 is worth it.
