Hey, nice that you’re planning ahead instead of playing Black Friday roulette.

From a more nerdy / technical angle, here’s how I’d approach LG OLED deals:

**1. Timing pattern (based on past C2/C3/G2/G3 cycles)**
In my experience, the real price floor on the *current* year C/G series usually hits **the 1–2 weeks around actual Black Friday**, not late October. Early "Black Friday" sales (late Oct / early Nov) are often just **matching the lowest price the set already hit during the year**, not beating it.

Typical pattern:
- Spring: launch price (high).
- Late summer: first meaningful cuts.
- Oct: “sale” prices that are basically summer lows.
- BF week: **extra $100–$300 off** on 55–65" C-series, sometimes more on older-year models.

So if you buy in late October, expect to **pay ~10–15% more** than the true BF low, historically.

**2. Retailer differences (for LG OLED specifically)**
- **Costco**: great if you want value + warranty. The 55/65 C-series often comes with an extra year of warranty and their return policy. Their prices are usually **very close to BF lows**, but not always the absolute lowest.
- **Best Buy**: better for stacking **credit card offers, reward points, and open-box** deals. I’ve seen 65" C-series open-box Excellent for **~$300 less** than new BF pricing.
- **Amazon**: tends to price-match more than lead. Good if you want easy returns and don’t care about extended warranty.

**3. What to actually target at your budget**
For $1,000–$1,500 in 55–65" with HDMI 2.1/120Hz and good HDR:
- Expect to land a **55" current-year C-series** comfortably in budget during BF.
- A **65" current-year C-series** will usually drop just under or near the top of your range in BF week.
- If you’re okay with **previous-year C-series (like C4 vs C3)**, you’ll often get a 65" comfortably in your range or lower—and the gaming feature set will still be basically complete (4x HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, G-Sync/FreeSync, etc.).

G-series is trickier; it’s usually **$300–$600 above C-series** at same size even on sale, so to hit your budget on a G you’ll most likely need to go last-year model and wait for BF proper, not early.

**4. Concrete strategy**
- **Now until October**: Decide on your priority: 55" G vs 65" C vs current- vs last-year.
- **October**: Start tracking with tools (e.g., camelcamelcamel, price history on Best Buy, etc.). Note the **absolute lowest price it’s ever hit**.
- **Plan:** Only pull the trigger early (late Oct / early Nov) if a retailer **beats that historical low by at least ~$100** and/or throws in something valuable (extended warranty, gift card). Otherwise, wait until the **Sunday–Monday before Black Friday**; that’s when major price-matching starts.

If you want, drop the exact model you’re leaning toward (C4 vs G4, etc.) and I can give a more precise “realistic price target” based on past gen pricing.

Hope this helps!

Hey, I totally get wanting to avoid the panic-buy scramble, I did exactly that last year with an LG C3 55".

Here’s what happened for me: I started tracking prices in mid-October. The “early Black Friday” price at Best Buy around Oct 25 was about $1,399. Regular price at the time was like $1,699. Then, on the actual Black Friday week, it dipped to $1,299 and basically stayed there through Cyber Monday. So yeah, the *best* price for that model was still in the actual BF window, but the early deal was already pretty solid.

For LG OLEDs (C2/C3/C4-type), I’d say:
- Early deals: usually ~20% off list
- Black Friday week: more like 25–30% off

Retailer-wise, I had the best luck with Best Buy (open-box was amazing value), while Amazon just price-matched. Costco is awesome if you care about extended warranty.

If you’re aiming for $1–1.5k on a 55"–65" C-series in 2025, I’d start tracking in price history sites in October, but personally I’d plan to pull the trigger between the Sunday before Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Hope this helps! If you’re torn between C vs G for gaming/movies, I can share what I noticed on a friend’s G3 vs my C3 too.

Is anyone else already scouting for LG OLED TV deals for Black Friday 2025, especially early-bird ones? I’m trying to plan ahead this year instead of panic-buying the week of Black Friday.

I’m specifically looking at LG’s OLED lineup (C-series or G-series most likely) in the 55"–65" range. I mainly use it for movies and next-gen console gaming, so features like HDMI 2.1, 120Hz, and good HDR performance matter a lot to me. My rough budget is around $1,000–$1,500, but I’m willing to stretch a bit if there’s a really solid deal on a higher-end model.

For those of you who follow TV pricing trends: do LG OLEDs usually get good **early** Black Friday discounts (like late October / early November), or are the best prices still closer to the actual Black Friday / Cyber Monday window? Also, do certain retailers (Best Buy, Amazon, Costco, etc.) tend to have better early deals on LG OLEDs than others?

If you’ve tracked LG OLED prices in previous years or scored a great early Black Friday deal, how much did the price drop compared to the regular sale price, and when did you buy? Any tips on timing my purchase for 2025 so I don’t miss the sweet spot?
