Hey,

So, quick background: I’m a bit of a subscription nerd and I track this stuff way too much. I’ve been on/off Poe Pro for a while, and I tend to treat it like cloud services: pay more attention to usage patterns than flashy discounts.

**Why this matters for your wallet**
BF/CM deals *sound* huge, but for tools like Poe the real savings usually come from:
- picking the right billing period (monthly vs annual)
- not over-buying capacity you won’t use
- timing upgrades so you don’t waste already-paid time

In my experience, Poe hasn’t done massive public “50% off annual” blowouts yet, and even when services do, it’s often:
- limited to *new* subs
- valid for just the first billing cycle
- small enough that it doesn’t beat just choosing the right plan length

**Practical, cost‑conscious approach I’d use:**

1. **Calculate your real usage** for the next 1–2 months:
- If you’re just experimenting: I’d go **monthly now**, not annual, even if a sale might come. You keep flexibility and cap your risk.
- If you *already know* you’ll use it heavily for 6–12 months (e.g., work or study): then an annual deal, *if one appears*, is nice, but I wouldn’t count on it.

2. **Time the upgrade like this:**
- If we’re within ~2 weeks of BF/CM: wait and stay on free or minimal monthly.
- If you *need* the higher limits now for a project: upgrade **monthly** and treat any BF/CM sale as a bonus, not a plan.

3. **If a BF/CM promo does show up:**
- Check if it’s **only for new accounts** or **new subscriptions**. A lot of platforms don’t auto-adjust existing plans.
- Sometimes you can **cancel auto-renew** on your current monthly, then switch to the discounted annual right when your month ends. That avoids double-paying.

4. **Value check vs discount hype:**
Do a quick back-of-the-envelope:
- Monthly price × 3–4 months vs a full annual. If you’re not 90% sure you’ll use it all year, sticking to monthly + occasional intense usage bursts is often cheaper than locking into a full-price annual hoping for a hypothetical sale.

**TL;DR practical move IMO:**
- Right now: go **monthly** if you need it, or stay free and wait if you can.
- Don’t lock into annual right before BF/CM unless you’re *certain* you’ll use it the whole year and you’re okay even if no sale happens.

Hope this helps! If Poe does announce something, I’d jump on annual only if you already know your monthly usage justifies it, not just because it’s on sale.

Technically, the safer “value” move is: stay free until late Nov, then go monthly first so you don’t get trapped in a full-price annual right before a surprise discount. If a deal appears, you can upgrade to yearly at the discounted rate; if not, you only paid a month while you test how hard you actually hit the message limits. That’s what I did and I’m pretty happy with the cost vs usage so far.

Hey,

I’m kinda in the same boat as you – I’m pretty cautious with subs and hate paying full price right before a sale. I’m a newer Poe user, but here’s how I handled it last year:

**Option A: Upgrade now at full price**
- **Pros:** You get the higher limits + premium models right away. If you *really* need it for work/study this month, it’s nice.
- **Cons:** You might feel dumb if a Black Friday deal drops a week later… I’d be annoyed tbh.

**Option B: Wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday**
- **Pros:** If Poe follows the usual SaaS pattern, any discount will *probably* be better on yearly plans (that’s what most tools do). I’d expect something like % off annual rather than big monthly cuts.
- **Cons:** Risk is: no sale at all, or it’s only for new users.

**Option C: Go Monthly first, then switch if there’s a sale** (what I did)
- **Pros:**
- You’re not locked in.
- If a BF deal shows up, you can cancel monthly and jump on the annual discount.
- **Cons:** Monthly is more expensive if there’s *no* sale later.

From my experience, I’m happy I went monthly first. It worked well, no complaints, and I didn’t stress about missing a sale. If you’re cautious like me, I’d **definitely go monthly now (if you need it), then watch for BF/CM** announcements.

Also, I’d avoid buying a full-price annual in early November unless Poe explicitly says “no Black Friday promo this year.”

Hope this helps!

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to plan ahead a bit and was wondering about POE AI deals for Black Friday & Cyber Monday this year. I’ve been using the free version on and off, and I’m considering upgrading to one of the paid plans (mainly for higher message limits and more access to the premium models), but I’d rather wait if there are going to be decent discounts.

For those who’ve been around longer: did POE run any Black Friday or Cyber Monday promos in previous years (like percentage off annual plans, free trial extensions, or discounted monthly rates)? If so, how big were the discounts and how long did they last?

Right now I’m especially interested in:
- Whether the Pro/paid tiers usually get any kind of holiday sale
- If discounts apply to existing subscribers or only new signups
- Whether it’s better to go monthly or yearly if a BF/CM deal appears

I don’t want to lock into a full-price annual plan in November only to see a big promotion a week later.

Has anyone seen any official hints, announcements, or patterns from past years about POE AI Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales, and how do you recommend timing an upgrade around that?
