Hey,

I’m kind of the DIY nerd of ticket buying, so I’ll give you the self-service angle rather than just “wait for StubHub’s code and hope.”

**Background (how I treat BF/CM on StubHub)**
Over the years I’ve stopped thinking of StubHub’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday as “the moment to buy” and started treating it as *one tool* in a bigger DIY strategy. Their promos are nice, but they’re usually layered on top of a market that’s already moving for a bunch of other reasons.

**Why this matters for you (NBA + summer festival)**
Big NBA games and festivals don’t behave the same:
- NBA: prices are super dynamic, especially closer to game day (injuries, standings, weather, etc.).
- Festivals: huge supply at first, then it tightens, then sometimes a sell-off if hype cools or people can’t go.

If you just “wait for Black Friday,” you’re basically outsourcing all that thinking to a single coupon code… and in my experience, that’s risky.

**DIY approach I’d use instead**
Here’s how I’d do it if I were you:

1. **Set your target price now**
Decide: “I’m willing to pay $X for NBA, $Y for the festival.” Not what it *costs*, what you’re actually comfortable with.

2. **Track *multiple* marketplaces, not just StubHub**
SeatGeek, Vivid, TickPick, even primary resale (Ticketmaster, AXS). Use:
- Price alerts / watchlists where available.
- A simple spreadsheet or notes app to log prices once a week.

3. **Use BF/CM as a checkpoint, not a deadline**
On Black Friday/Cyber Monday:
- Compare StubHub + code vs regular prices elsewhere.
- Factor in fees (this is huge). Sometimes a “15% off fees” code still loses vs a no-fee site.

4. **Exploit timing patterns** (what I’ve seen):
- NBA: middling games often drop 24–72 hours before tipoff; premium rivalry games rarely “sale” meaningfully.
- Festivals: early-bird/first resale wave can be cheaper than any BF code months later.

5. **Have a buy-now vs wait-later rule**
My personal rule: if I see my target price hit *before* BF/CM, I buy and don’t look back. The stress of “what if it’s cheaper later” rarely pays off for big events.

**So should you wait for Nov 2025?**
I’d *monitor* through the year and treat BF/CM as just one potential discount window. If your dream seats hit your target earlier, grab them. If prices are still high in November, then yeah, a StubHub code might finally make them acceptable.

TL;DR: build your own tracking system, use StubHub’s BF/CM as a bonus lever, not the entire plan.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you want sample tracking sheets or timing ideas for a specific team/festival.

Hey,

So quick story: I *did* wait for StubHub’s Black Friday deal a couple years ago for a big game, got what looked like a sweet % off, and then the seller canceled on me a week before the event. StubHub refunded me, sure, but by then prices everywhere else were insane and I ended up not going. Discount meant nothing once the plans blew up.

From a safety-first angle, I’d look at it like this:

- For **must-not-miss events** (playoff-ish NBA games, big festivals you’re planning travel around): I’d prioritize reliability over squeezing an extra 10–15% out of a BF/CM code. Buy earlier from a solid listing (good seat location, reputable seller rating, clear transfer method) rather than gambling on November promos.

- StubHub’s BF/CM deals are usually **marketing sugar**, not a guarantee of the best *total* outcome. Prices can spike, inventory can dry up, and last-minute transfers are where things get messy (delays, barcode issues, etc.).

- If you do wait, I’d at least set price alerts now and identify backup events/dates so you’re not stuck if your first choice goes sideways.

Lesson I learned: Black Friday savings feel amazing *until* your whole trip hinges on a last-minute ticket drama. If these events are cornerstone plans for 2025, I’d absolutely lean safety > small discount.

Hope this helps!

Hey,

I look at this more from a “whole market” angle than just StubHub, so here’s how I’d think about it.

**Background: how these promos usually work**
Most big resale players (StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster Resale, sometimes Gametime) use Black Friday/Cyber Monday mainly as a *customer acquisition* push, not a true fire sale. The typical pattern the last few years:
- **StubHub** – flat % off fees or a spend X, get Y off type code, often with caps and lots of exclusions. Decent, but not always game-changing.
- **SeatGeek** – very code-heavy, lots of $20–$30 off for new users, sometimes stackable with lower fees on certain events.
- **Vivid Seats** – similar to StubHub but they lean harder into “$ off” promos if you’re in their rewards system.
- **Ticketmaster / primary** – usually not big on BF/CM codes for *resale*, though some teams/venues do their own sales.

**Why it matters for you (NBA + summer festival)**
For high-demand stuff, the biggest price factor is still **supply/demand for the event**, not the holiday promo. A 10–15% fee discount is nice, but if base prices jump 30–40% between now and then, you lose.

Where BF/CM really shines is:
- Mid-tier NBA games (weekday, non-marquee opponent)
- Upper-level / GA for festivals where supply is huge across all platforms

**Practical strategy (multi-site, not StubHub-only)**

If I were planning like you:

1. **Set a target price now** for each event (what you’re actually comfortable paying).
2. **Track across platforms**, not just StubHub:
- Use SeatGeek to compare all-in prices (they’re decent as a meta-comparison tool).
- Check StubHub/Vivid directly for specific sections you want.
3. **Use late November as a “benchmark” check**, not the only shot:
- During BF/CM 2025, compare: base price + fees – promo code vs today’s prices. Don’t just assume code = deal.
- Sometimes another platform with no promo still beats StubHub’s “sale” because of lower seller prices or slightly lower fees.
4. **Consider “new user” deals**: if you haven’t used SeatGeek/Vivid on that email/phone yet, those new user codes (~$20 off) can be as strong or stronger than StubHub’s BF discount for single games.
5. **For the festival**, IMO:
- If it’s a massive mainstream fest (Coachella-level), prices often drop closer to the event unless the lineup is insanely hot. I’d watch the primary and resale market over time vs betting everything on BF.

**Bottom line:**
- Don’t plan your entire purchase strategy around StubHub’s BF/CM – treat it as **one competitive data point** in a bigger market.
- If prices are already near your target and it’s a high-demand NBA game, I’d lean toward grabbing now rather than gambling on a ~10–15% fee break later.
- For more “average” games or flexible festival days, yeah, using BF/CM as a planned check across **StubHub + SeatGeek + Vivid** is a pretty solid, cost-effective approach.

Hope this helps you game it out a bit more strategically!

So coming at this from the super budget-conscious side… I’d be careful about **banking** on StubHub’s BF/CM deals, especially for big NBA games and summer festivals.

I’ve tracked their promos the last few years and, unfortunately, a lot of the “20% off” type codes end up getting canceled out by:
- Sellers quietly raising prices that week
- Dynamic pricing kicking in when demand spikes
- Fees still being a big chunk even after the discount

In my case, I’ve actually paid *more* waiting for Black Friday on a couple of NBA games because inventory for decent seats dried up, then the remaining ones were overpriced even with the code.

If you’re cost-focused, I’d do this:
- **Set price alerts** now (StubHub + at least 1–2 competitors)
- **Decide a target price range** you’re happy with and buy as soon as you see it, BF/CM or not
- Treat any November code as a bonus, not the backbone of your plan

For high-demand stuff (playoff-ish NBA games, big festivals), I’d honestly lean toward buying earlier at a fair price instead of gambling on a maybe-10–15% promo.

Hope this helps! Happy to talk specifics if you’ve got certain games/festivals in mind.

Hey,

Short version: I wouldn’t *only* wait for StubHub’s BF/CM codes, but I’d absolutely use late November as one of a few “checkpoints” in your buying strategy rather than an all‑or‑nothing bet.

From a more technical/market side, here’s what I’ve seen (I track this stuff pretty nerdy‑detail for NBA + festivals every year):

1. **Type of discounts**
StubHub doesn’t usually cut ticket prices; they discount *fees*. That’s important. If fees are ~20–30% of your total, then a “10–20% off” promo on *fees* is effectively more like **2–6% off the full cart**, depending on the event. Nice, but not life‑changing.
- Example from 2023/2024: common offers were `SAVE10`, `BF20` style codes that capped at ~$75–$100 max savings. Good for big orders, but not some huge market reset.

2. **Timing: BF vs CM vs “event curve”**
Ticket pricing is mostly driven by **supply/demand and event proximity**, not StubHub’s calendar promos. Typical pattern (for NBA + popular festivals):
- Early on: higher prices, low inventory.
- Mid‑window (1–3 months out): market stabilizes, more listings, more undercutting.
- Last 7–10 days: high variance – can be great for non‑premium games, brutal for in‑demand matchups.

BF/CM usually falls in that mid‑window. So the BF promo often stacks on top of already more reasonable “market” prices, which is where I’ve been happiest buying.

3. **Black Friday week vs day‑of**
In my notes (yes, I keep a sheet 🤓):
- 2022 & 2023: codes were valid for **multiple days** (BF through at least Cyber Monday).
- The *code* changed, but the effective savings didn’t move much day‑to‑day. No “one‑hour flash 40% off fees” unicorns.

4. **Does waiting for BF/CM actually beat normal drops?**
For me:
- **NBA regular season mid‑tier games** (non‑marquee opponents): waiting closer to game day often beats BF pricing, even after codes, especially in big markets.
- **Premium games (big rivals, weekend, stars in town)**: prices either hold steady or creep up; here, a BF/CM fee promo is often the *best* risk‑adjusted spot.
- **Summer festivals**: if it’s a major festival that usually sells well, BF/CM almost never undercuts late‑resale panic (which often happens 1–2 weeks before the festival) – but those last‑minute deals come with serious risk (travel booked, sell‑outs, etc.).

5. **What I’d actually do in your shoes**
- **Set target prices now**: Decide your “I’m happy at this price” number for each event.
- **Track prices weekly** using at least two platforms (StubHub + SeatGeek/VividSeats). You’ll quickly see if the market is trending up or down.
- **Use BF/CM as a decision point**:
- If prices are near your target by late November and there’s a decent code (even 10–15% off fees), I’d buy and be done.
- If prices are still clearly inflated vs trend, you’re probably better off waiting, BF or not.

6. **Alternative options / stacking**
- Use **cashback portals** (Rakuten, TopCashback, etc.) — I’ve stacked 3–5% cashback on top of StubHub codes more than once. That makes BF/CM materially better.
- Check **primary sellers** (Ticketmaster, team sites) on their own BF/CM promos; sometimes they run lower fees or dynamic price drops that beat resale entirely.

So, should you wait? I’d say: plan to **monitor** until BF/CM 2025, use any StubHub promo as a nice bonus, but don’t assume it’ll magically beat smart timing + normal market drops. If it hits your target price + a fee discount in late November, that’s usually when I lock things in and I’ve been pretty happy with that approach.

Hope this helps! Happy hunting for those games and the festival 🙂

Short answer: I wouldn’t plan your whole strategy *around* StubHub’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. They’re nice to have, but not usually game‑changing.

What I’ve seen over the years:
- They *do* usually run something: either % off fees (10–20%) or a spend X, get $Y off type code. It’s almost always site‑wide but with minimum spend and caps.
- Timing varies: some years the better code was on Black Friday, other years it was a “Cyber Week” thing. Lately it’s more like a 3–5 day window rather than one magic day.
- For NBA + big festivals, prices are way more affected by demand than by these promos. I’ve definitely seen tickets drop more just by waiting closer to the event than what the BF discount would’ve saved me.

My personal rule now: if it’s a *must‑go* event or specific seats, I buy early and don’t wait for BF/CM. If it’s flexible (date/section), I’m happy to wait and *maybe* stack a code on top of natural price drops.

Hope this helps!

Has anyone heard anything solid about StubHub’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for 2025 yet?

I’m trying to plan ahead for a couple of big events next year (mostly NBA games and a summer music festival), and I’m wondering if it’s worth holding off on buying tickets until Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Last year I remember seeing some promo codes floating around on social media, but I didn’t pay much attention and now I’m kicking myself.

A few specific things I’m curious about:
- Does StubHub usually run site-wide discounts (like 10–20% off fees) or is it more targeted, like only certain events or price ranges?
- Do the best deals tend to drop on Black Friday itself, Cyber Monday, or do they run a whole week of promos?
- Have the discounts in past years actually beaten normal price drops if you just wait closer to the event?

If anyone has experience tracking StubHub’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales from previous years, or any early info/rumors for 2025, I’d really appreciate your insights. Should I wait for potential StubHub sales in late November 2025, or is it usually not that big of a difference compared to regular prices?
