Im already trying to map out my savings for 2026 because honestly gaming prices are getting out of control and I totally missed out on everything this year. I read some article on TechRadar saying Best Buy usually has the deepest cuts for hardware but then I saw a thread saying their membership changes ruined the discounts for regular people. Its just so annoying trying to plan this out when everything feels like a scam lately.

I have about $850 saved up and I really need a new console and maybe a decent monitor. Does anyone know which stores are actually reliable for the 2026 cycle or is it all just gonna be digital bundles from now on...

^ This. Also, Newegg is reliable for displays. Im really happy with my LG UltraGear 27GR75Q-B 27-inch QHD 165Hz IPS for the price, definitely watch them for 2026 hardware bundles.

Just caught this thread and honestly... im kinda dreading 2026 shopping already. It feels like every year the deals get worse and everything is just a trap to get you into a membership. Heres where to look if you want to keep your money safe:

  • Costco: Basically the only place I trust. Unfortunately they dont always have the crazy doorbuster prices, but that return policy is a lifesaver. I got my Sony PlayStation 5 Slim 1TB Console there and felt way safer than using a random site tbh.
  • Amazon: I had issues with them lately. Shipping was slow and the box for my ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27-inch 1440P 165Hz arrived totally beat up. Use them for the low prices, but be ready for a return headache.
  • GameStop: Honestly, stay away. Their stock is so hit or miss and the rewards program feels like a total scam lately. Stick to stores with real warranties so you dont get burned.

Ive been researching these trends because I prefer safe and reliable transactions. Honestly, focusing on established retailers is the best way to ensure you actually get what you pay for without getting scammed.

  • Target remains a very solid option for console bundles.
  • Walmart usually has decent stock levels for electronics.
  • Go with any console from Microsoft for the best value.
  • Just get a monitor from Dell as they are quite dependable.
