So I'm like totally new to this whole big sale thing and I'm honestly so excited to finally have some money saved up to actually buy stuff. I have like 400 dollars set aside which is a lot for me and I really need to get some warm clothes because I'm moving to New York in December and I currently live in Florida so I have literally zero winter clothes lol. I'm looking at those big puffy jackets and maybe some leather boots but I'm just so confused about the timing of it all. Is there a big difference between the Friday and the Monday for clothes specifically?
I was looking at some sites and they already have timers and stuff and it's making me kinda anxious that I'll miss the best prices for the 2026 season. Sorry if this is a super basic question but I've literally never done this before and I dont want to waste my budget on Friday if everything is gonna be like 20 percent cheaper two days later on Cyber Monday. Or is it the other way around where the good sizes sell out fast? Like should I just grab what I see immediately on Black Friday or is it worth waiting until Monday for the online specific deals? I just want to get the most for my money since I'm starting my wardrobe from scratch...
Building on the earlier suggestion, I was super satisfied with how much I saved by grabbing my basics on Friday instead of waiting for those Monday sales. Honestly, waiting usually just means looking at Out of Stock signs lol.
In my experience, you gotta hit Black Friday for clothes. I spent years waiting for Cyber Monday only to find the common sizes totally sold out. Id grab a Timberland White Ledge Mid Waterproof Boot early. Clothes arent like electronics; once the good jackets are gone, they dont restock for Monday. Better to secure your gear early than save five bucks and end up with nothing.
Adding my two cents here, but honestly its so frustrating how these big brands play us nowadays! I spent years tracking the technical specs like denier and insulation ratings and its basically a scam now. You think youre getting an amazing deal but brands like North Face or Columbia often have different production tiers for these sales compared to actual high-end technical gear... its such a joke. Drives me crazy!! I remember digging into the data and realizing the shell material on the 'sale' versions was way thinner than the main line... talk about a massive letdown. It is honestly ridiculous that we have to do this much homework just to not get ripped off by companies that used to stand for quality. I love the technical side of gear but seeing the stitch density drop while prices skyrocket is just painful! Its such a scam when they treat us like we wont notice the difference just because there is a discount tag.
Cyber Monday is unfortunately a letdown since sizes disappear. I had issues with stock counts being wrong. Better grab Columbia Landroamer 650-Fill Down Parka Friday for actual warmth.
Good to know!
