Will high-end GPU prices drop significantly for Cyber Monday 2026?

Ive been building my own rigs since the GTX 970 days so Im not exactly a newbie when it comes to the hardware cycle but man this current market is throwing me for a loop. I usually time my upgrades every 3-4 years but my current card started artifacting yesterday and I think the VRAM is finally cooked. Im trying to hold out for the big sales but looking at the roadmap for late 2026 everything seems so volatile. With the way AI demand is gobbling up all the silicon Im genuinely stressed that the high-end cards arent even going to see a real discount for Cyber Monday.

Im sitting on about $1900 for a full refresh and I really need a card that can handle heavy 4K rendering in DaVinci and still hit 144fps in whatever competitive shooters are out. Ive always relied on that late November price drop to squeeze a tier-one card into my budget but the rumors about supply chain constraints for 2026 have me panicking. Should I just bite the bullet now and buy a mid-range card to get by or is there actually hope for a sub-$900 flagship deal?

My specific needs:

  • Must have at least 16GB VRAM (editing 6K footage occasionally)
  • Budget for GPU is strictly under $950
  • Need it by December for a big project deadline
  • Prefer Nvidia for the CUDA cores but honestly getting desperate

Ive checked the historical charts and usually we see a 15-20% dip on the previous gen during Cyber Monday but with the way things are going Im worried the old stock will just be non-existent. Like, are we even going to see significant stock of the high-end stuff or is it all gonna be mid-tier leftovers? I really dont want to overpay but I also cant afford to be without a workstation for months while I wait for a sale that might not even happen... what do you guys think the inventory is gonna look like by then?

I totally think you can find a deal, but you gotta be fast! I once snagged a beastly card for 30% off just by stalking warehouse deals at midnight. It was incredible! If you need 16GB VRAM under $950, keep your eyes peeled for these:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 price drops
  • MSI Gaming Trio RTX 4080 Super 16GB clearance Inventory moves fast, so dont hesitate when that discount hits!

Pricing for flagships under 950 is unlikely given how things are going. For 4K rendering in DaVinci, that 16GB VRAM is non-negotiable. Id suggest looking at the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GAMING OC since it fits your budget and handles 6K footage fine. Stock for older high-end stuff usually dries up by November, so grabbing a stable mid-cycle card is safer than waiting for a phantom sale.

Unfortunately, I think those massive flagship drops are a thing of the past. Its not as good as it used to be:

  • Im not sure, but I heard manufacturers are limiting stock now.
  • I think AI demand will ruin any real discounts on high-end silicon.
  • Expect maybe 5% off instead of the 20% we used to see. Be ready to pivot if the sales dont happen!
