I know it sounds crazy to be looking this far ahead but I am a massive planner when it comes to money and I really want to build my dream rig in early 2027 so I am aiming for the November 2026 sales to get the bulk of the parts. Right now I am still rocking an old 2060 and it is starting to struggle with the newer stuff I want to play like Cyberpunk at 1440p. I have been saving up and hope to have around 800 or 900 quid just for the graphics card by then which is a lot for me.
I saw a few rumors on some tech blogs saying that the RTX 60 series might actually be launching right around late 2026 but then some other people on reddit were saying that the 50 series will still be the main thing and discounts will be tiny because of all the AI stuff eating up chip production. It is so confusing because one site says prices will crash once the new gen drops and another says supply will be so low that MSRP wont even matter. Since I am in the UK our prices are already weird compared to the US so I dont know if those big 30 or 40 percent off deals I see people talking about actually happen here for GPUs or if its just a marketing gimmick.
Do you think the 2026 sales will actually have decent stock of mid-to-high tier cards or am I just setting myself up for disappointment by waiting that long for a deal...
Man, I have been through so many of these cycles over the years and honestly... Black Friday in the UK is usually a bit of a letdown for high-end gear. In my experience, people hype up those 40% off deals but they are mostly for old mice. By late 2026, you will likely be looking at:
Disagree slightly tho... over the years I've found cycle-end pricing beats BF. Snagging a ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB once the 50 series drops is your best bet.
@Reply #2 - good point! Honestly, the consensus here is spot on... Black Friday is usually a marketing trap and waiting for the generational hand-off is a much smarter play. Unfortunately, I've had issues with timing UK sales because our stock levels are way lower than the US. It's not as good as expected when you finally have the cash ready. Basically, with a 900 quid budget, you're better off hunting for a MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Ventus 3X during the quiet summer months of 2026. Retailers here often inflate prices right before November anyway, which is such a scam, ngl. If you keep your eyes peeled for something like a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB when 60-series rumors first heat up, you'll save more than waiting for a holiday badge. Don't pin all your hopes on one day... stay flexible!
