so i am actually so pumped for the sales this year even though it is still a few weeks away. my old running shoes are literally falling apart - like the sole is peeling off on the treadmill - and i really need to gear up for that marathon training block starting in January. i have about $300 saved up in my gear fund and i am trying to decide where to drop it all.
Nike usually has that extra 20 or 25 percent off their sale stuff which is great for grabbing a pair of Pegasus and some Dri-FIT layers but then Adidas goes crazy with the member-only deals on the app and i have been eyeing those Adizero Pros forever. i am mostly looking for:
last year Nike felt a bit picked over by Monday afternoon but Adidas had way better stock in my size (10.5). i am torn because i love the Nike fit but Adidas seems to give more bang for the buck when they do those massive site-wide discounts. I dont wanna miss out if one sells out fast. do you guys think the Nike member deals are gonna be better this year or should I just wait and see what Adidas drops?
Stick with Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 tbh. In my experience, Nike stock always fails by Monday.
caught this a few hours late but ngl i gotta disagree about blowing the whole budget on one pair of super shoes. im really happy with the Adidas Adizero Boston 12 Lightstrike Pro because the dual-density foam is perfect for long blocks. the glass fiber EnergyRods 2.0 give amazing return but wont break the bank. leaves you enough room for a Adidas Own the Run Windbreaker Hooded and Adidas Cold.Rdy Training Tights.
@Reply #1 - good point! Nike inventory is total chaos but if you snag the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 3, the dual carbon plates and ZoomX foam give amazing energy return for marathons. Since you are in Chicago, the Nike Therma-FIT ADV Swift Tights are fantastic because they use zoned heat-regulating tech. Those specs actually matter when it is freezing! Go for the tech over the brand name alone.
