im so tired of looking at these price trackers because nothing makes sense anymore. i have about $1300 saved up for a new rig because my old Dell is basically a space heater now and I need something for my freelance editing work here in Chicago by next spring. i spent all morning reading these forums about the 2026 release cycles and honestly im just more lost than when I started. i saw some talk on a tech blog about how the 2026 early black friday window—like those pre-sales they do way before the actual holiday—is gonna be the sweet spot for the rtx 50 series laptops but then some guy on a discord said manufacturers are gonna hold back stock to keep prices high until the actual holiday hits. it feels like every time I think I have a plan some new rumor ruins it and I really dont want to waste my money on something that will be obsolete in two months or overpay for a last-gen model just because I got impatient and didnt wait for the right sale. are there actually gonna be early 2026 black friday laptop deals worth watching or is it all just hype to get us to buy old inventory?

In my experience, those early sales are mostly used to dump old inventory. I've seen it happen for years. If you're doing professional editing, don't risk your $1300 on a hyped pre-sale. I'd watch the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i RTX 5060 16GB RAM around mid-November instead. Manufacturers usually squeeze out the real deals right before the holiday starts. Just stay patient and verify the cooling specs before jumping in.

totally get the frustration but early sales are actually amazing if you time it right! you can definitely find some 50 series gems before the main rush hits. for your editing work you want color accuracy and power. check these out:

  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 RTX 5060 16GB OLED
  • HP Omen Transcend 14 RTX 5060 1TB SSD honestly just jump on a good price when you see it! youre gonna love the upgrade!

> early sales are mostly used to dump old inventory Not sure but I think 50-series stock might leak early. Don't you need specific software for your Chicago edits?
