Im stuck between the MacBook Pro 14 and the latest Dell XPS 13 for my freelance design work and I really need to upgrade before my new contracts start in January. Budget is like $1800 tops so I gotta hit the sales perfectly to get the specs I want. I keep checking the prices but they havent budged much yet. I'm leaning toward the Mac but if the Dell goes on a massive early sale I might just jump on that instead. I know the actual Black Friday is late in November but those early windows are usually better for stock. Anyone know when Amazon is gonna launch the 2026 early deals? Is it gonna be the first week of November again or even earlier?

Amazon is likely gonna pull the trigger on those deals earlier than expected, probably around October 26th based on how they've been pushing the holiday window lately. Honestly, I've been a bit disappointed with the Dell XPS 13 for professional design work. I had some major issues with thermal throttling during high-res exports, and the limited port selection is just not as good as expected for a freelance setup. You just end up buying a bunch of adapters anyway. Since you have a strict $1800 budget, these alternatives are worth a look during that late October window:
- ASUS ProArt P16 H7606 32GB RAM 1TB SSD RTX 4060
- This is much better value than the XPS. The OLED display is incredible for color work, tho the battery life wont touch the Mac.
- Apple MacBook Pro 14 M3 Pro 11-core CPU 18GB RAM 512GB SSD
- Try to find a clearance deal on this model instead of the newer base ones. That extra RAM is vital for heavy multitasking, and you can usually find it under your budget when the sales start.
- Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 13.8 inch Snapdragon X Elite 32GB RAM 1TB SSD
- The build quality is excellent, but unfortunately some niche design plugins still dont play nice with the ARM architecture. I really think waiting for the actual Black Friday date is a mistake. The mid-tier specs always sell out during that first wave in late October, and you dont want to be stuck with the entry-level models that Amazon dumps at the end of the month...

Early deals usually launch November 1st! Definitely target the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M4 16GB RAM 512GB SSD because its display specs and power efficiency are just amazing for design work!
