Should I wait for Cyber Monday 2026 to buy a high-end GPU?

Honestly my 3070 is literally screaming every time I open Premiere Pro and I'm so done with the constant stuttering. I need to upgrade like yesterday because this is affecting my freelance work but prices are still so stupid. I am looking for something that can actually handle heavy 4k footage without crashing every ten minutes.

  • budget is around 1300 max
  • must be nvidia for the specific drivers I use
  • needs to last me at least 4 or 5 years

Is it even worth holding out for Cyber Monday 2026 or should I just bite the bullet now? I am worried I will spend a ton and then the new gen drops and I will feel like an idiot but I literally can't work like this anymore...

Waiting until 2026 is unfortunately a massive mistake for your freelance business. I have had issues with the value proposition of the current lineup because performance gains are not as good as expected for the price hike, but waiting two years is a total non-starter. You should look at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB GDDR6X which fits right in your budget. It has the 16GB of VRAM you need for 4k, tho I am still disappointed nvidia didnt give it a larger bus. If you want to save some cash, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GDDR6X is also an option. It has the same memory capacity but fewer cores, so your timeline playback might not be quite as buttery during heavy grading. Basically, just bite the bullet now on the 4080 Super... its the only way to get your workflow back to being stable.
