Has anyone heard if RVShare is doing any Black Friday or Cyber Monday promotions this year? I'm planning a big road trip next spring and renting an RV would be perfect, but those rental costs can really add up. Do they typically offer discounts during the holiday sales season? Would love to book something now if there are deals coming up soon!

@Reply #2 - good point! Tbh though, I am not sure if waiting for the actual Black Friday date is the best move for a spring trip. In my experience, those 10 to 15 percent off service fee codes barely make a dent in the total cost once you factor in the cleaning fees and insurance. I tried waiting for a Cyber Monday deal a few years back for a trip out west and it was a total bust... by the time the code actually dropped, the specific camper I wanted was already snatched up for the dates I needed. Not sure but IIRC, owners usually set their own seasonal rates and a lot of the best rigs don't even participate in those platform-wide sales. I have found that just messaging owners now and asking for an early-bird or long-term discount works way better for being cost-effective. I once got a massive break on a rental just by asking the owner if they had a special rate for a two-week spring booking. Usually, they would rather have a guaranteed booking on the calendar now than wait for a maybe later on. It wont hurt to ask and you might save way more than a small service fee discount would give you.

Ive used RVShare for three big trips over the years and honestly, their Black Friday stuff is usually a bit hit or miss since its a marketplace of individual owners. Usually, the platform itself will drop a promo code for about 10 to 15 percent off the service fee, not the whole nightly rate. A few years back I was trying to score a deal for a spring break run and found that messaging owners directly during that week is actually the pro move. Some owners are desperate to fill their spring calendars and will manually adjust the price for you if you ask nicely. A couple tips if youre hunting deals:

  • Keep an eye out for a sitewide code like RVSHAREBF or similar around the Friday morning.
  • Check if you can get a weekly discount since many owners bake those in automatically regardless of the holiday.
  • If you are prepping for a big trip, skip the expensive built in GPS rentals and grab a Garmin RV 895 GPS while they are on sale at retailers during the same time. Its definitely worth waiting another week to see if that code pops up before you pull the trigger on a deposit.
