Hey! Anyone know of Black Friday rental deals? Looking to rent a car around Thanksgiving. Budget is about $400. Thanks!

TL;DR: Hit up Turo for specific performance specs or check Sixt for some actual German engineering. Wait, where exactly are you driving? If you are hitting mountain passes or just cruising the flat highway it totally changes the gear you need! Ngl $400 is tight for Thanksgiving week but you can still find gems if you look at the specs instead of just the price tag. Personally, I love Sixt Rent a Car BMW 3 Series because their fleet usually has those 2.0L turbocharged engines with way better handling than a generic sedan.

  • Pros: That ZF 8-speed transmission is amazing, plus solid torque.
  • Cons: Can get pricey with insurance. Otherwise, check out Turo Car Sharing Tesla Model 3 if you want that instant electric torque and basically zero fuel costs!
  • Pros: 0-60 is basically a rollercoaster, tech is fantastic.
  • Cons: Charging can be a pain if you are in the middle of nowhere. Lmk about the terrain and I can check some power-to-weight ratios for you! Honestly love nerding out on this stuff.

Hey! Instead of chasing Black Friday codes, I'd suggest checking Costco Travel. I rented a Mustang convertible last Thanksgiving for surprisingly cheap – about $350 through them. Be careful though, rental prices fluctuate wildly; book ASAP and keep checking for price drops! Might want to consider their cancellation policy; it saved me once. Good luck!

Black Friday deals can be tricky. Check 'total cost of ownership'– Enterprise often has hidden mileage fees. Consider slightly older models; less depreciation = lower rental rates.

Beyond price, check tire tread depth. Budget brands *can* skimp. Stay safe!

Forget discount codes! Check Autoslash; they re-book if prices drop! Saved $100 last year using them. Worth a look!

Instead of renting, consider buying a used Honda Civic. Depreciation's cheaper than rental markups, especially long-term. My '17 Civic had issues with the infotainment, but mechanically solid. Cost me $15,000 initially, cheaper than repeated rentals, and I owned it outright. Think long-term value!

Black Friday rental deals are volatile. Enterprise often discounts compacts aggressively; compare total costs including insurance. Budget $400 might be tight.

Instead, rent a U-Haul. $400 gets you a truck; DIY move instead!
