Are Cyber Monday 2026 apparel sales better than Black Friday?

Should I wait for Cyber Monday 2026 to buy clothes or just do it on Black Friday? I have no idea how this works and feel kinda dumb asking. I have $200 for winter gear for my kids in Maine and just want the best deal... is one day actually cheaper for shirts and stuff?

@Reply #2 - good point! Honestly, waiting till Monday has been a total bust for me lately. Tried getting The North Face Youth Freedom Insulated Pants last year and they were totally sold out in every color but neon yellow by Monday morning. It sucks. Quick tip: sales usually start the Tuesday before anyway. If you see the OshKosh Bgosh Heavyweight Winter Parka on sale Friday, just grab it. Dont wait for Monday.

Been doing this for a decade now and the math usually favors Friday for variety, but Monday is better for that extra 10 percent off clearance stuff. One year I tried to save twenty bucks by waiting until Cyber Monday for gear. Big mistake. The site crashed, and by the time I checked out, the boots were backordered until mid-January. Not great when you're in a cold state like Maine... kid was basically freezing in a light hoodie while I waited for the mail. Heres how I usually play it to maximize a two hundred dollar budget:

  • Sign up for rewards programs now. Brands like Columbia Kids Powder Lite Hooded Jacket often go on sale for members a week early.
  • Focus on durability so you dont buy twice. I always grab Lands End Kids Iron Knee Pants because they actually survive a full winter.
  • Check the shipping cutoff dates. Monday deals are useless if the coat arrives in February.
  • Use cash-back sites to stack with the sale prices.

Honestly, Cyber Monday has been such a letdown lately for apparel. Sizes sell out so fast on Friday that Monday is basically just leftover scraps. For Maine winters, dont wait. I had issues finding decent sizes last year because I waited too long... total nightmare. Just grab something like Carhartt Kids Duck Bib Overalls Insulated on Black Friday instead. Better than missing out tbh.
