Which sneaker brands are actually going to have the big sales for Black Friday 2026 because I am totally lost and need to buy some for my brother? I seriously have no idea what I am doing here so please bear with me if this is a really stupid question. I usually just buy whatever is at the grocery store or a cheap department store but my younger brother is turning 18 in December and all he talks about is getting some real sneakers. He lives in a big city now and I want him to look cool but I am on a super tight budget of maybe 150 dollars if I stretch it.

I started looking online and it is just so overwhelming. There are all these different websites like SNKRS and confirmed and then there are the actual brand sites like Nike or Adidas or New Balance but I cant tell who actually does the big discounts. Do the cool ones like Jordan even go on sale or is it just the stuff that nobody wants? I heard Black Friday is the time to go for it but I am worried everything will sell out in like two seconds and I wont even know how to click the button fast enough.

  • Do I need to sign up for memberships now?
  • Are the sales better on the official sites or at places like Foot Locker or Hibbett?
  • Is there a specific time of day I need to be awake to get the good deals?

I live in a really rural part of Ohio so we dont have any of those fancy boutiques or anything near us so I have to do all of this online. I am really stressed because I dont want to miss out and then have nothing for his birthday a week later. I keep seeing people talk about drops and raffles but I just want to find a pair of nice white or black shoes that wont fall apart. If anyone knows which brands usually go the deepest on their discounts or if I should just give up and get him a gift card please let me know. I feel like such an idiot trying to navigate this stuff...

Honestly, dont feel bad about being lost... I've spent way too much time hunting for kicks and I'm always so happy with the deals I find during Black Friday. Your $150 budget is actually plenty to get him something he will love without needing to win any crazy raffles or use those bot things. Tbh, the cool stuff is usually the classics anyway. Here is what has worked well for me over the years:

  • Sign up for the free Nike and Adidas memberships right now. They usually give members early access to the 25 or 30 percent off codes. I've always been super satisfied with the selection they include in these sales.
  • Focus on the main brand sites or big retailers like Finish Line. The SNKRS and Confirmed apps are mostly for super limited stuff that is impossible to buy, but you want staples that look clean.
  • Look for the Nike Air Force 1 '07 Low White or the Adidas Ultraboost 1.0 Core Black. Both are timeless and he will look great in a big city wearing them. I have both and they've held up great.
  • For New Balance, check out the New Balance 550 White Grey. They are super trendy and you can usually find them for under $120 if you catch a sale at Hibbett. I bought these for my cousin last year and he was really happy with them. Basically, you dont need to be awake at 3 AM. Just check the websites the Monday morning before Black Friday. Most sales go live early now. I've never had an issue getting a standard pair of black or white shoes as long as I didn't wait until the last minute.

I've been hunting for sneakers online for years and sticking to the official brand sites is way safer than messing with third-party sellers when you're on a tight budget. In my experience, Adidas and Nike usually have the most reliable Black Friday blowouts where you dont have to worry about fakes or shipping issues.

  • Adidas Forum Low Classic White Black: These are absolute tanks. The leather is much thicker than what you find on cheaper department store shoes so they wont fall apart in a month. They usually hit 40 or 50 percent off during the holiday week. Pros: Very durable. Cons: A bit heavy on the feet.
  • Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage White Black: This is a safer bet for a cool city look. They are timeless and way easier to find in stock than Jordans. Pros: Looks great with everything. Cons: Very narrow fit, so maybe size up half a size. One technical thing tbh... avoid the SNKRS app for now. It is mostly for limited stuff that sells out in seconds and will just stress you out. Stick to the main Nike.com sale tab at like 8 AM EST on Friday and you will find plenty of gems under that 150 mark.
