I'm trying to get ahead of the game for next year because my current setup is literally dying on me and I need to replace my monitor and maybe grab a laptop before I start my masters program in the spring of 2027. I have about $1200 saved up and I really want to make it stretch as far as possible since electronics are getting so expensive lately. I was looking at some of those deal tracker sites and they all say the big players like Amazon and Best Buy are the only ones worth watching but then I saw a bunch of people on another board saying that BH Photo or even Costco actually have way better bundles for high-end stuff during Cyber Monday.
The problem is that half the info I find is for the 2024 or 2025 sales and I'm worried the landscape is gonna change by 2026 with all these new store memberships popping up like MyBestBuy Plus or whatever. I don't really want to pay for a subscription just to get a discount you know? Also I've heard Newegg has been kinda hit or miss with their shipping times lately so I'm hesitant to rely on them for a big purchase.
Does anyone know which specific online stores are projected to have the actually good electronics deals for Cyber Monday 2026 or is it just gonna be the same old big box stores again?
Man, Cyber Monday is literally the highlight of my year!! I totally get the stress about the 2026 landscape changing but honestly... Costco is gonna be your best friend for that Masters prep. Even if you hate memberships, the 90-day return policy and the extra year of warranty they usually tack on for free is just insane value for a laptop. I have seen them bundle stuff like a ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED 14.5-inch 2.8K 120Hz Touchscreen i7-13700H 16GB RAM 512GB SSD for way under $800 during the holidays. It is such an amazing machine for productivity and the screen is beautiful! For the monitor, B&H Photo is usually where the tech nerds like us go to avoid the Amazon madness. They do dont mess around with fake original prices as much. You could probably grab a fantastic LG UltraGear 27GP850-B 27-inch QHD 165Hz Nano IPS Monitor for like $280 if the trends hold up thru 2026. The color accuracy on that thing is honestly incredible for the price point. Ngl, those Best Buy memberships feel like a total cash grab lately, so I would definitely stick to the Costco and BH combo to keep your $1200 working hard for you! TL;DR: Skip the Best Buy and Amazon hype. Hit Costco for the laptop because that warranty is goat, and use B&H Photo for the monitor specs. You will easily stay under budget with better quality gear.
Building on the earlier suggestion, unfortunately Newegg is not as good as expected lately. Dont risk it, just go with Dell or Lenovo and youll be fine, way better warranty support.
