so i was looking into getting some new gear for my half marathon training starting in February so i really need to snag stuff by the first week of Jan 2026. i saw some blogs mentioning that Gymshark usually does a big new year new me thing but their 2025 dates were all over the place so im not sure if they do early access. my logic was that if i buy now itll be full price but if i wait too long everything in my size (medium) will be gone.
i have $200 and i really need high compression leggings for the Denver winter. i saw Lululemon has an after holiday section but people say its mostly just weird colors... has anyone seen actual leaks for the early 2026 drops yet?
Basically, the Under Armour post-holiday sale is the most reliable bet for cold weather gear. The Under Armour ColdGear Infrared Leggings provide excellent compression and heat retention for Denver winters. For specialized marathon prep, the 2XU MCS Run Compression Tights usually hit the sale section by the first week of January. Both options fit your budget and perform better than standard fashion-focused brands.
Late to the thread but you really gotta be careful with those after holiday sections if you're a size medium... it's basically the most common size so things go fast. If you're looking for actual technical compression that handles Denver wind, I'd suggest looking at the Brooks Momentum Thermal Tight DriLayer Threshold because they use a brushed back fabric that keeps heat in without losing the muscle support. Most people overlook Brooks for apparel but their compression mapping is actually pretty decent for distance runners. Another thing to watch out for is the fabric weight. For January in Colorado, you want something north of 250 gsm or you're gonna freeze. The Craft Sportswear ADV SubZ Tights 2 Wind Protection are a bit more expensive but they have a Ventair wind-protective front that is literally a lifesaver when the wind chill hits. I've seen them drop to around $85 or $90 on clearance if you time it right for the first week of Jan. Just make sure to check the size charts tho... European brands like Craft tend to run a bit small in the quads compared to US brands. If you're hovering around $200 total, you could probably snag two pairs of those if you hit the right specialized running sites instead of the big generic retailers. Honestly, ignore the hype drops like Gymshark and look at stores like Running Warehouse or Backcountry around Dec 28th. That's usually when the real technical gear gets marked down before the Jan 1st rush starts. Good luck with the half marathon prep, Denver's trails are no joke in Feb!
^ This. Also, unfortunately, ive had issues with Gymsharks recent quality. Their compression is not as good as expected for actual marathon training. Are you planning to use these as your primary layer or underneath shorts? For Denver winters, Nike Pro Dri-FIT Warm Tights are a better technical choice tho. They use a brushed fleece lining that traps heat way more efficiently than standard gear while providing the tight fit needed for muscle support.
