honestly im so over these fake sales every year. I spent like three hours last night scrolling through the usual suspects and it feels like the discounts are getting worse? Like I see up to 50 percent off and then you click and its just some weird neon socks or slides nobody wants lol. Im really trying to find a solid pair of high-tops or maybe some New Balance for the winter here in Chicago but my logic was that Cyber Monday 2026 might actually have some inventory clearing for once. Im on a strict 180 dollar budget because rent just went up again and I really need these to last. I was thinking maybe Nike would finally drop the prices on the non-hype stuff but even the basic dunk lows are still sitting at full price everywhere I look. Its so frustrating because I see people on twitter saying wait for the flash sales but I always miss those. Does anyone actually know which brands go hard on the discounts without making you jump through hoops? I looked at Adidas but their site kept crashing last time I tried to buy anything during a drop and I dont want to deal with that again... just want a clean pair of kicks for a decent price without the headache. Is it even worth waiting for Monday or should I just bite the bullet now...

I feel you on the fake sales thing... it is mostly just junk nobody wants. Since you are in Chicago, you really need something that wont fall apart when the salt hits the leather. I have tracked these for a bit and here is how they usually stack up for Cyber Monday.

  • New Balance 574 Rugged

Pros: This version has a much thicker outsole than the standard 574, so it handles slush way better. New Balance usually does 25% to 30% off sitewide, which easily puts these under your $180 limit.
Cons: They are not waterproof, so you will still need to buy some protector spray.

  • Nike Air Force 1 High '07

Pros: Classic high-top look and they are built like tanks. Nike usually runs a Member Access sale where you get an extra 20% off even the stuff that is already on sale. You can usually find these for around $110 if you time it right.
Cons: The traction is pretty mid on actual ice.

  • Adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2.0

Pros: If you want something that actually survives a real winter, these are the play. Adidas usually slashes Terrex prices by 40% because they want to move outdoor inventory.
Cons: Like you said, their site can be a total nightmare. Try using the app instead of a browser, it usually hangs less during the big traffic spikes. Waiting for Monday is probably the move. Just skip the hype stuff and go straight for the outdoor or heritage tabs... that is where the real price cuts happen.
