I am trying to save up for my very first gaming computer because my old laptop is literally dying on me and I want to finally play some actual games like Cyberpunk maybe. I have about 1200 dollars saved up and I am looking at Newegg because my cousin told me they are the place to go for parts. I was looking at their deals and I want to buy everything during the big holiday sales in 2026 since that is when I will have the rest of my money.
But I am super nervous that I am gonna buy a graphics card or a processor and then two days later the price will drop even more and I will just lose out on like fifty or a hundred bucks which is a lot for me. I dont really know how this stuff works or if stores even do that kind of thing anymore where they give you the difference back. Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but I am just really lost with all the policies and stuff on their website it is a lot of text to read through.
If I buy stuff during the Black Friday or Christmas sales in 2026 and then the price goes lower like a week later does Newegg actually give you the money back or am I just stuck with what I paid?
Ive been building rigs for a decade and Newegg has always treated me well during the holidays. I was super happy when they refunded me the difference on my MSI Ventus 2X GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6 after a flash sale last year.
Had a moment to think about this more and honestly, that anxiety is totally normal for a first build. ^ This. Also, you gotta watch out for the specific labels they use during the holidays. I remember when I was piecing together a rig with an ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi AM5 Micro ATX Motherboard and some Team Group T-Force Vulcan DDR5 32GB 6000MHz RAM, I was constantly refreshing the page hoping I wouldnt get burned. Newegg usually runs a specific Black Friday Price Protection program where if you buy an item with the protection badge and the price drops lower before the end of the year, they often just automatically refund the difference to your original payment method without you needing to do a thing. It saves a ton of stress, tho there are some catches to keep in mind...
