What do you guys think the prices will look like for top tier gaming CPUs around Black Friday in 2026? I know that is a long way off but im trying to be really smart with my money because I have about $3000 saved up for a whole setup and I dont want to waste it. Sorry if this is a silly question I honestly dont even know how often these things change or if the high end stuff even gets a discount during sales. Right now im using an old dell laptop for my schoolwork and trying to play games like Starfield or Cyberpunk on it is basically impossible it just gets so hot and loud. I was reading some stuff online about i9 and Ryzen chips but its all like another language to me. Is it better to wait for the 2026 sales or does the price not really drop that much on the newest parts? I live in a pretty rural area so I have to buy everything online and I really want to make sure I get the best brain for my computer so I dont have to upgrade again for like 5 or 6 years. Does anyone remember what happened with prices in the past or is it just a total guessing game... I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep saving or if that 3k is gonna be enough by then to get the crazy good stuff.
tbh waiting until 2026 is usually a letdown. unfortunately, top chips rarely get the massive discounts people dream of. i waited for the Intel Core i9-14900K 24-Core 6.0GHz last year and the sale was barely 5 percent off, not as good as expected at all.
