Im already starting to plan out this massive wedding album project for my sister because she got married in Italy last year and the photos are literally just sitting on a hard drive gathering digital dust. I know 2026 seems far away but I am a total over-planner and I want to make sure I have the budget set aside for something that actually looks like a professional heirloom. I have been looking at Mpix versus Printique mostly and I am really leaning toward Mpix but the cost for a 100-page book is honestly kind of terrifying if I pay full price.

I am basically stuck between these two paths right now:

  • Option A: Mpix Premium Panoramic. I have used them for small prints and the color is always spot on and I know the layflat pages are a must for those big landscape shots of the Amalfi coast.
  • Option B: Printique. People say their paper quality is slightly better for fine art stuff but I have never actually held one of their books in my hands so it feels like a bit of a gamble.

My budget is strictly $200 max and with a huge book like this I know I am gonna be pushing it. I am trying to figure out if Mpix is reliable with their Black Friday deals because I do not want to spend sixty hours designing this thing in their software just to find out the discount is only like ten percent or only applies to their cheap economy books.

Does anyone recall what they did for the high-end albums in previous years? I remember seeing 40 or 50 percent off a few years back but I feel like everyone is getting stingier with coupons lately. If they dont do a big blowout for the premium stuff I might have to reconsider my whole plan or maybe cut down the page count which I really dont want to do. Just trying to see if I should bank on that late November sale or if I am being delusional thinking I can get a top-tier album for under two hundred bucks...

Honestly, 100 pages is a huge project and those thick layflat pages drive the price way up. If you are worried about hitting that $200 limit, consider these tips:

  • Opt for thinner paper stock if available to keep costs down.
  • Check out Printique Layflat Photo Book 10x10 which often feels more premium for the price.
  • Prioritize quality layout over page count if money gets tight. You got this, it will be an amazing gift regardless.

In my experience, Mpix hits 50 percent off site-wide every Black Friday.

  • watch for page surcharges
  • check ICC profile specs Youll be totally safe with that budget if you wait for the sale.
