Are there any early Black Friday sales for athletic wear happening right now or starting super soon? I am so hyped to finally get some new gear because my current gym clothes are looking pretty rough and I really need to refresh my whole rotation before the new year. I have been scouring the web and I saw that Lululemon updated their We Made Too Much section but honestly it feels like the same old stuff they always have on sale and I am not sure if it is actually the holiday kick-off yet. Then I saw Nike has some early access member thing going on but the prices dont look that different from their usual clearance stuff so I am kinda confused if I should pull the trigger now or wait another week.

I am based in Chicago and it is already getting way too cold for my thin leggings so I am specifically looking for:

  • thermal running tights
  • high-impact sports bras
  • maybe some windbreaker layers

My budget is about 250 to 300 bucks total which I know wont go far at full price so I really need to find the actual deep discounts. I read on one blog that Gymshark usually starts their big sale early but then another person on Reddit said they changed the date this year to be closer to the actual Friday... it is all so conflicting! Has anyone seen confirmed leaks or early starts for brands like Under Armour or maybe even Alphalete? I just want to get my shopping done before everything sells out in my size.

> I am specifically looking for thermal running tights Like someone mentioned, early sales vary, but Under Armour ColdGear Infrared High-Rise Leggings are fantastic for Chicago! UA usually drops a massive 30% off code right about now. Dont wait!

Just saw this today and honestly, as someone who runs the Chicago lakefront path year-round, you gotta look at the technical specs before hitting buy! Wasted so much money on gear that looked cute but left me shivering in the past. Eventually, I started obsessing over fabric density and thermal insulation ratings because thin leggings are a death sentence in January... Heres why the tech matters:

  • Thermal insulation: You need brushed fleece interiors. Those tiny fibers create air pockets to trap your body heat.
  • Wind protection: Look for DWR or wind-resistant membranes in your layers. Plain polyester wont stop that lakefront wind.
  • Support: Go for encapsulation bras, not just compression, if you want zero movement. My experience with the budget? Aim for these during the big drops:
  • Brooks Shield Hybrid Jacket 2.0 Wind-Resistant
  • Nike Therma-FIT One Tights Brushed Back
  • Panache Sport High Impact Underwire Bra 5021 Dont get sucked into the early access hype if it is just basic clearance stuff. Wait for the site-wide codes that usually hit around the 20th! Honestly, the deep discounts on the high-end tech usually happen right before the actual holiday. That Nike Therma-FIT stuff is fantastic once the real 30 percent off codes drop. Hang in there!

> Lululemon updated their We Made Too Much section but honestly it feels like the same old stuff Unfortunately, youre totally right about those early sections being a letdown. I had issues with my last big early access haul where the gear just felt lower quality than usual. It really wasnt as good as expected... basically a waste of cash. I learned the hard way that these early promos are often just clearing out old stock. I would honestly wait another week if I were you!
