I actually prefer when Thanksgiving is late because it forces stores to get aggressive earlier in the month to hit their numbers. Now I start my serious hunting around the second week of November, basically right after Veterans Day. Ive been really satisfied with how sites like Running Warehouse handle their early bird stuff... they usually match the big box prices without the shipping headache. A few things that have worked well for me:

• Use a tool like RunRepeat to check price history so you dont get fooled by fake discounts.
• Set up a Google Shopping alert specifically for your size and width.
• Look for previous season models like Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 Support Road Shoe since they get cleared out for deep discounts once the new versions are fully stocked.
• If you want something faster for the actual marathon, I have seen Brooks Hyperion Max Performance Trainer drop significantly by mid-November. Tbh, once you hit that 25 to 30 percent off mark, just pull the trigger. Saving an extra five bucks isnt worth the stress of your favorite trainer being out of stock right when your high-mileage weeks start for that December race.

To add to the point above: people keep mentioning Nov 1st but unfortunately those sales arent as good as expected for real savings. I had issues with sizes selling out before the deep discounts even hit. If you're on a budget for this marathon, look at these instead:

• Brooks Launch 10 Neutral Road Shoe
• Brooks Revel 6 Road Running Shoe Ngl, waiting for the holiday rush is usually a letdown. Buy clearance in October instead.

Honestly, most retailers trigger early sales around November 1st now. From my experience tracking shoe prices, look for these two models specifically:

• Brooks Ghost 16 Neutral Road Running Shoe is very stable for daily training miles.
• Brooks Glycerin 21 DNA LOFT v3 Max Cushion has way better energy return for the full marathon distance. The Ghost is a solid budget pick, but the Glycerins extra nitrogen-infused foam really helps when legs get heavy.
