Are there any leaked 2026 Black Friday deals for Intel Core Ultra CPUs?

Ive been building rigs since the old Core 2 Duo days so I generally have a solid grip on how the holiday pricing cycles work but honestly this 2026 transition to the Core Ultra stuff has me a bit thrown off. I am planning this massive workstation refresh for my photography studio in Seattle around November 2026 and I am trying to budget out my components now because I like to buy everything in one go. Usually we see some leaked slides or retailer database entries about 18 months out but its been weirdly quiet on the 2026 front.

I am looking to drop around 500 bucks on the processor alone, probably targeting an Ultra 7 equivalent if it hits that sweet spot for 4K rendering. I’ve checked all the usual leakers and some of the tech forums but I am not seeing much beyond the basic socket specs. Its frustrating because I need to know if I should wait for those holiday bundles or if the initial launch pricing is gonna stay flat through the end of the year. Has anyone caught any whispers or actual leaked promotional material for the 2026 Black Friday deals on these new Intel Core Ultra CPUs yet?...

tbh trying to find 2026 black friday leaks right now is basically impossible because intel is so secretive. i would suggest being real careful about planning a whole studio budget around leaks this early. since youve been building since the core 2 duo days, you probably remember how messy new socket launches can be... honestly it might be better to wait for the second batch of chips to avoid the early bugs.

  • look for bundles featuring the Intel Core Ultra 7 365K 24-Core Processor closer to the actual date
  • keep an eye on motherboard compatibility with something like the MSI MEG Z890 ACE Motherboard
  • dont count on huge discounts for the newest tech during that first holiday season ngl, i would probably budget for the full msrp just to stay safe. if you happen to snag a deal on a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVMe SSD or something else to offset the cpu cost, that is just a bonus. stay cautious tho...

Re: "Like someone mentioned, the total lack of data..." - man, I totally feel that frustration! I remember back when the first i7s launched, I spent weeks refreshing forums just like this one only to find absolutely zero info until the day before. Intel is amazing at keeping secrets lately tho! So far the thread consensus is that leaks are dry and yield rumors aren't great. If you are aiming for that $500 sweet spot, keep an eye on these two:

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Desktop Processor
  • AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor The Ultra 9 is gonna be a 4K rendering beast if the clock speeds hold up, while the 9950X has amazing multi-core power that usually hits deep discounts during sales. Prices are kinda unpredictable this far out, so keep some extra cash on standby. TL;DR: Don't lock in a budget yet. Yield issues could spike prices, so waiting for actual launch data is the best move! It’s gonna be a wild ride!

Like someone mentioned, the total lack of data is pretty discouraging. I agree that planning a professional studio budget on non-existent leaks is risky. Honestly, I think I heard some whispers about potential yields for the 2026 lineup being lower than expected, which is unfortunately gonna drive prices up rather than down. Not sure if it's true but iirc a distributor contact mentioned that the mid-range processors might skip the heavy holiday discounts entirely to prioritize pre-built vendors. It's just not as good as we expected based on the older cycles. I've had issues with these new socket transitions before where the early adoption tax lasts way longer than a few months. The thermal management on early revisions is often a headache too. Basically, I wouldnt hold my breath for a big bargain on an Ultra 7 equivalent that soon after launch.
