planning this massive build for my video editing studio in late 2026, aiming for like an i9 or whatever the top tier is then. My budget is tight around $3k for the whole rig and I'm really hoping to snag the CPU for cheap. I've been looking at price trackers from 2023 and 2024 and it's so weird because some sites say flagship chips barely move because of prestige pricing but then I see reddit threads saying Intel is gonna slash prices to fight off Ryzen.

Its confusing because the 14900k stayed pretty expensive for a while. If I wait until late November 2026 am I actually gonna save more than like fifty bucks on a flagship or should I just buy it earlier?
