So I am sitting here with my 2070 Super and it is literally screaming every time I open Microsoft Flight Simulator. I am super stressed about whether I should pull the trigger on something now or just suffer until Black Friday 2026. I saw some leaked roadmaps saying the next big architecture shift wont really peak until then but then other people on Reddit were saying that supply chains are still weird and prices might not even drop that much for the high end stuff anyway. It is so confusing because one site says wait for the 50 series launch soon but then others say the really good deals and stable drivers dont happen until way later which puts me right at late 2026.
I just dont want to drop a ton of money and then see the same card for half off or see a way better card come out right after. Here is what I am dealing with:
Should I just grab a 4080 super now if I see a deal or is the jump to the 2026 cards gonna be so big that I will hate myself for not waiting? The thought of my current card dying before then is giving me so much anxiety...
> The thought of my current card dying before then is giving me so much anxiety... Unfortunately, waiting until 2026 is a huge gamble. I had issues with a similar strategy where my card failed mid-deadline, and the replacement market was not as good as expected during that specific cycle. It was a mess. Quick tip: Make that drive to Micro Center for an open-box ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB. Its more practical than stressing for two years.
Honestly, just go with NVIDIA right now. I've been very satisfied with their performance and reliability, as everything works well. You really cant go wrong with their high-end cards.
