Look, my 1080 Ti is literally on its last legs and im sweating trying to decide if waiting for Cyber Monday 2026 is actually a smart move or if im just being delusional. My logic was that since the cards will have been out for a while by then we might see those big bundles or at least a decent 15 percent off at Newegg or Best Buy. I checked some historical price trends for the 3080 and 4080 during their second year and they barely moved much except for some random open box stuff which kinda scares me because i dont want a used card for this kind of money.
Im trying to stick to a 1300 dollar budget for the GPU alone and i really want that 5080 performance for my video editing work and some heavy 4K gaming. If I wait another year and the discount is only like fifty bucks ill be so mad at myself for struggling with this old card for so long. I read one article saying 2026 will be the year of the Super refreshes so the base models should tank in price but then another guy on reddit said nvidia is just gonna keep supply low to keep margins high. I just cant tell if that late 2026 window is actually the sweet spot or if the 50-series is just gonna stay expensive until the 60-series drops...
