What are the predicted CPU deals for Black Friday 2026?

Ive been building rigs since the DDR3 days so I know my way around a motherboard but Im trying to plan my next major overhaul for late 2026. Usually I just buy when I need it but Im saving up like 3 grand for a workstation that wont lag on 8K renders.

By then we should have Zen 6 or maybe Intels next big jump. I live near a Micro Center so those bundles are always an option but Im trying to figure out if its better to wait for the actual Black Friday sales or if the early November drops are usually better for high-end chips. What do we actually think the CPU pricing trends will be by then?

TL;DR: Focus on previous-gen flagship CPUs to maximize your 3k budget without losing performance. By late 2026, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor will likely be on clearance to make room for Zen 6. For 8K renders, you need raw multi-core speed, and that chip is gonna be a steal compared to launch prices. Same goes for Intel stuff. I'd watch the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K 24-Core prices starting in October. Retailers like Newegg or B&H often drop their best workstation prices way before Black Friday hits. Its usually safer to buy mid-November so you dont deal with stock issues. I'd also look for a deal on the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi Motherboard since it has the high-speed ports you'll need for big video files. Just be careful with random third-party sellers on Amazon during the holiday craze. Let me know if you want to look at power supply specs too... those renders pull a lot of juice.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Ive been super happy with open-box finds. Grabbing a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7960X 24-Core for a discount during the holiday season always works well.

I am so excited for your 8K workstation! Just a major word of caution based on my experience: avoid waiting until the actual holiday weekend. Stock for high-end chips at Micro Center becomes incredibly volatile by then. Tbh, it is way safer to secure those early November bundles. Waiting for the big day is a dangerous gamble that usually leads to total disappointment once parts sell out!

Like someone mentioned, grabbing those early November bundles is definitely the move to avoid the stock headaches. In my experience building render farms, reliability is the one thing people overlook when chasing deals. I've seen too many guys focus on the discount but ignore how these chips handle heat over long render sessions. When you're doing 8K stuff, you really need a board that can handle the sustained power draw without throttling. Its way better to have a slightly slower, rock-solid system than a flagship that crashes at 3am because the VRMs got too hot. Tbh, by 2026 we should see some better efficiency on those high-end nodes, but I always prioritize stability for workstations anyway. Just something to keep in mind while you're hunting for those deals...
