im trying to plan ahead for my holiday shopping because honestly things are getting so expensive here in ontario and i really need to save some cash this year. i was looking up the black friday dates for 2026 and i keep seeing conflicting stuff about when the prime member deals actually start for us in canada. i read on one tech blog that amazon usually does like a 'pre-game' sale starting the first week of november but then another forum thread said those deals are mostly junk and the real prime early access only happens like 48 hours before the actual friday. its super confusing because the us site seems to have way better stuff than the .ca version sometimes and i dont want to miss out on the good stuff waiting for a price drop that never comes.
im looking to grab a few specific things this year and i really need to know if i should jump on early deals or wait:
ive got about 1200 total to spend on myself and some family gifts so i really gotta stretch it. does anyone know if the early prime stuff in canada is legit or if we just get the leftovers? i dont want to buy something nov 10th then see it $100 cheaper on the actual black friday. i saw some mention of a 'holiday dash' but i dont know if thats still a thing in 2026 or if prime members even get a head start anymore...
Regarding #2, those early prime deals are legit amazing!!
I am so pumped for you! Saving cash in Ontario is basically a full-time job now lol, so I totally feel your pain. Honestly, I have been doing the Amazon.ca dance for a decade and the Early Access for Prime members is usually where the real gems are hidden! You should definitely look at the Breville Bambino Plus Espresso Machine BES500... it is amazing and fits your budget perfectly! It usually drops big time about ten days before the actual Friday. For the basement, the TCL 55-Inch 5-Series 4K QLED Smart TV 55S546 is such a fantastic value and I love it for the brightness. It almost always hits that $500 sweet spot during the pre-sales. Definitely grab the TP-Link Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini EP10 packs too! They go for dirt cheap early on. You can totally make that $1200 stretch if you stay sharp and dont let the big Friday hype distract you from the early wins. Good luck!!
I've been hunting deals on .ca for years and honestly the early stuff is often hit or miss. One year I grabbed a Breville the Barista Express Espresso Machine for $600 around mid-November and the price didn't budge again. For that TV budget, the Hisense 55-Inch 4K UHD Smart Google TV 55U68K is your best bet. Those mid-range gems usually bottom out early, so don't wait for the Friday madness.
